MO HB 3015 and HB 2921 are identical bills that would codify with Missouri’s existing age verification regulation into law. Like the regulation, it requires websites with more than 1/3 material harmful to minors to verify the age of users using government ID or transactional data. The law is enforced by the state attorney general and violations are punishable by up to $10k per day in fines. Additional civil penalties of up to $250,000 may be awarded if a minor accesses harmful material because the entity failed to comply with the law.
