Sunset Section 230 Act – S 3546

Latest Action: Announced on December 18, 2025

Would repeal section 230 of the Communications Act of 1934, which limits platform liability for user-generated content. Would take effect 2 years after enactment.

The bill is being promoted by a large number of pro-censorship groups, including NCOSE (Morality in Media), the American Principles Project, and the Institute for Family Studies.
