Washington HB 1335

Creates a private right of action for publishing an individual's personal identifying information without permission in order to harm them and causes physical, economic, or emotional injury; the victim to fear for their safety; or substantially disrupts the life of the victim. Victims may bring lawsuits against both the person who published the information and any person who knowingly benefits from participation in a venture they knew or should have known has engaged in a violation of these restrictions.

Takes effect July 23, 2023.
