Washington HB 2112 is an age verification mandate with an additional requirement to display “health warnings” on adult sites.

Enforcement: civil fines up to $10k per day a site operates without age verification

Age verification mechanisms allowed: digital ID or a commercial age verification system that uses government ID or transactional data to verify age

Health warnings: the department of health is to develop a notice “pertaining to the youth health risks associated with adult content” and websites must include it on their landing pages and advertising in “14-point font or larger”.

Applies to: “A commercial entity that knowingly and intentionally publishes or distributes material on an internet website, including a social media platform, and more than one-third of which is sexual material harmful to minors”
