Age verification mandate enforced by government fines.
Requires internet-enabled devices to be able to “determine or estimate the age of the device’s user or users upon initial activation” and “provide websites, applications and online services with a digital signal indicating” what age range the user falls into, including 18+ via an API.
Requires all devices activated in the state must have a filter installed that prevents minors from accessing obscene content. Filter can only be disabled after “reasonable age verification” is performed.
Would require devices activated in Montana to ask the user to provide their age during setup and automatically filter “obscene” content if the user is a minor.
